Nestled in the heart of Ærø’s picturesque landscape, Arnfeldt began as a historic seaside residence, standing tall since the early 20th century. Once a gathering place for travelers seeking the charm of Denmark’s southern islands, it has since been lovingly transformed into a sanctuary of culinary and coastal delights.
Years ago, inspired by Ærø’s untamed beauty and rich traditions, the Arnfeldt team reimagined this historic space, blending its original character with thoughtful design and contemporary comforts. At Restaurant Arnfeldt, dining is an invitation to slow down and savor. Located in the heart of Ærø, the restaurant blends the island’s finest seasonal ingredients with French culinary craftsmanship, creating dishes that tell a story of place and passion.
Each plate is thoughtfully curated by chef Ariel Calabrese, celebrating the vibrant flavors of local produce and biodynamic wines that perfectly complement the menu. With its intimate and relaxed atmosphere, Arnfeldt offers more than just a meal—it’s a culinary journey where every detail is designed to delight and inspire.
The food was delicious and interesting and the staff knew their way around the wine list as well and we enjoyed some great pairings during the course of the evening. Our room was also super cosy with a lovely view over the local duck pond and we had a great night’s sleep after our lovely dinner.
